Thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign for San Bernardino City Unified School Board website. I am proud of the progress we have made in San Bernardino City Schools and would like to share our successes and share my background with you.

My Candidate Statement

During my tenure on the school board for the last nine years, I have continued to work diligently to improve the quality of education for all students.

I have supported and will continue to support academic programs and community partnerships such as:

As our district continues to grow it is essential for our school board to maintain open lines of communication and receive input from parents/community, teachers, administrators, and classified staff. As such, I will continue to promote policymaking, decision making, and problem solving that is inclusive

I pledge to continue working toward improving academic achievement for all students, as well as addressing the following challenges our district currently faces:

  1. Providing a safe learning and working environment
  2. Enhancing early intervention efforts to improvement student academic achievement
  3. Improving graduation rates and high school exit exam rates
  4. Increasing work-ready and college-ready graduates

Our teachers, classified staff, and administrators continue to work diligently to improve our student’s academic test scores and scholastic achievement. We are not where we want to be, but our district is committed to and has made significant improvement in key academic areas. (See highlights below of our progress for the 2005/06 school year.)

I ask for your support and your vote on November 7, 2006.
